About
okay-guard is written in Scala 3 and Scala.js on okay-effects, a family of algebraic effect libraries.
The guard is a program over its own effects: the wire, the journal, the policy, a person, the clock. Every place it runs only handles those effects:
- your browser (this studio);
- a Cloudflare Worker that passes messages between your agent and the page;
- your machine, on Node or the JVM.
A call waiting for you is the program's continuation, kept as data until you answer.
The policy language is okay-proof's okay-policy. Every decision by a rule is a theorem of its kernel, with a certificate anyone can check again.
Built on okay-effects
okay-effects makes what a program does explicit and controllable:
- types say what a program may do;
- handlers say how it is done;
- interceptors put each action through a point of control, and audit it.
okay-guard is that idea applied to AI agents: every action an agent takes goes through a policy, a person if needed, and a journal.
